I decided to work at Arapahoe Basin because I had visited in 2009 for Spring Break and decided I needed more than a week here, so after college I moved out from New Hampshire. Some of my favorite things about Arapahoe Basin are it brings people from all around the country who share a common love for skiing are riding. My favorite runs are anything on the Pali and Montezuma Bowl. What I like best about my jobs here is that the people and the community are what make Arapahoe Basin a great place to work; that and the skiing! My advice to future Arapahoe Basin employees is that if you love the mountain and put in your full effort, management will take care of you as well and they will make certain work days so fun that you will forget you are working.

I chose to work at Arapahoe Basin because of the laid back, fun atmosphere and the great terrain it has to offer. Some of my favorite things about Arapahoe Basin are the awesome ski pass benefits and the great people who ski and work here. I love taking tree runs in Montezuma Bowl and just about anything off the Pali. If I’m feeling adventurous I’ll even take a lap on Molly Hogan! The greatest thing about being a lift operator at the basin are the free breakfast and getting to work at a different lift every day. My advice to future Arapahoe Basin employees would be to get here early on your days off for fresh snow and a great time on the beach!

I chose to work at Arapahoe Basin because of the great ski pass, the laid back atmosphere and the friendly people. My favorite things about the Basin are the free breakfast, the ride breaks, fun environment, the view and of course the people. My favorite piece of terrain is Montezuma Bowl especially on a gnarly powder day. Some of the things I like about my job here are Sarah my manager, the employees and since I’m a cashier I get to know every employee through our free breakfast program. My advice to future Arapahoe Basin employees would be; be respectful, trustworthy, friendly and all around a genuine person. Oh and of course, love being a ski bum!

I chose to work at Arapahoe Basin because I had heard great things about the terrain, the people and the atmosphere. Some of my favorite things about the Basin are the cool people that I get to work with each day and the excellent ski pass benefits that we get to enjoy all over Colorado. My favorite terrain at the Basin is definitely anything off of the Pali. What I like the most about my jobs here is that I get to use some of the best tuning equipment available in the industry and guests seem to really appreciate my work. My advice to future Arapahoe Basin employees would be to just remember to set aside time to get out and ski or ride each week. It helps keep your focus and attitude positive and it releases all of those great endorphins!

I knew nothing about Arapahoe Basin before I got here. Then I met Burt (Snowsports Director) and I knew I didn’t want to work anywhere else so that’s why I’m here! Some of the things I like best about the Basin are that as an employee of Snowsports, I really appreciate the small class sizes and the beach is pretty sweet! My favorite runs are Arapahoe Basin are North Fork and the Spine (just ask Burt). I love meeting new people every day and sharing my passion for snowsports with people young and old. The best thing about my job is that I work at a place where people come on their vacation! It doesn’t get any better than that. My advice to future Arapahoe Basin employees is work here, because you won’t want to work anywhere else!

Department: Lift Operations
Snow Sport Preference: Skier
I chose to work at Arapahoe Basin because Courtney and Carly made it sound like so much fun on the phone. They may have also said something about free breakfast. Plus, working for a ski area is the most fun you can have with a literature degree! My favorite thing about the Basin is that it’s a ski area, not a resort. Sure the food is good and the A-Frame is charming, but mostly it’s just about the awesome skiing. It’s also a smaller kind of place so it’s fun to get to know all the other employees as well as a lot of regulars. My favorite runs are the Spine on Pali and Bierstadt in Montezuma Bowl. The thing I like best about my jobs is the people I work with and working with people. My advice to future Arapahoe Basin employees is just have fun with your job. You’re not here to get rich so make it an awesome experience. If you are having fun then so is everyone else!
