Inaugural Chili Cook-off – May 19, 2012
1st place Wins $500
Arapahoe Basin, CO – April 28, 2012 Arapahoe Basin will be hosting its inaugural Chili Cook-off on Saturday, May 19, 2012. A-Basin is currently looking for the best chili chefs in town to win $500 for the overall best chili title.
The cook-off will be divided into green and red categories and include prizes for 1st place overall and 2nd and 3rd place for each of the categories. A People's Choice winner will also be chosen. Judging criteria is based on taste, presentation and creativity.
The event will take place in the base area from noon until 4:00 p.m. Great American Taxi featuring Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon will be entertaining the crowd with a free concert from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Special tasting packages will be available for $20 to include 15 chili tastings and three 12 oz beers.
