A fun afternoon on the mountain

Arapahoe Basin's Summit Challenge Trail Race and BBQ

Kick off the Arapahoe Basin Summer Events Season with the Summit Challenge Trail Race and BBQ Pig Roast.

Mid-Mountain Division:  10:45 a.m. start.  These competitors will run/walk up from the base area along the Argentine/North Fork Trail to finish at the Black Mountain Lodge. 

The total distance for this course is 1.8 miles with a 700ft elevation gain. 

Summit Division:   10:15 a.m. start.   These competitors will run/walk up from the base area along the Argentine/North Fork Trail, continue up Grizzly Road to the top of Pali and then traverse along the Cornice Run to Patrol Headquarters.  From Patrol Headquarters competitors will follow the summer road back down to the finish at Black Mountain Lodge. 

The total distance for this course is 4.6 miles with a 1,700ft elevation gain.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in each division

Pre-Register:  Adults/$15, Youth 12 and under/$15

Day of Register:  Adults/$25, Youth 12 and under/$15

Race and Lunch:

Pre-Register:  Adults/$30+tax, Youth 12 and under/$25+tax

Day of Register:  Adults/$40+tax, Youth 12 and under/$35+tax

Running up the mountain not your thing?  Please join us for an afternoon of lunch and live music on the deck at Black Mountain Lodge.  An all you can eat BBQ and Pig Roast will be served with a cash bar from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Lift/Lunch:

Adults/$20+tax, Youth 12 and under/$15+tax

Hike/Lunch or 2013/2014 Season Pass Holders:

Adults and Youth 12 and under/$15+tax

Children 5 and under can ride the lift for free
Public lift access starting at 10:00 a.m.
