Join CAIC, patrollers from A-Basin and patrollers from neighboring ski areas for a day of classroom instruction and hands-on outdoor scenarios on how to make solo and group avalanche rescues.
Workshop is limited to 50 participants with backcountry experience.

Workshop includes: An introduction to the newest equipment and technology, beacon and probe techniques, deep burial and strategic shoveling techniques, search pattern organization and implementation, rescue, extrication and evacuation, emergency care and sled building techniques
Pre-requisites: participant must have a valid A-Basin season pass or lift ticket, must have backcountry equipment (beacon, probe, shovel), previous backcountry experience, come dress appropriately and feel comfortable on intermediate ski terrain
If you need to rent equipment, Wilderness Sports has beacons, shovels, probes and ski equipment available. Shop hours are 9:00am-7:00pm. The Dillon store is located at 701 E. Anemone Trail; their phone number is 970.468.5687.
