How do I get to Arapahoe Basin?
See Getting Here
If I'm coming from Denver, is it quicker to go over Loveland Pass to get to Arapahoe Basin?
It is quicker by about 30 minutes when conditions are ideal. Snow and other adverse weather can make the pass difficult to navigate and actually increase the time needed to get here. Sometimes Loveland Pass is closed due to adverse conditions or for other reasons. The closure reasons are posted on the I-70 digital sign boards well in advance of the Loveland Pass exit. In poor weather, we suggest using the Silverthorne route.
What types of vehicle/tires are required on Loveland Pass?
There are no formal restrictions for vehicles traveling over Loveland Pass. However, most vehicles equipped with front-wheel drive/ snow tires or four-wheel drive/ snow tires (or chains), and anti-lock brakes are ideal and do fine on Loveland Pass in all types of conditions.
