New terrain, new amenities - same authentic vibe
How do you keep with the times but retain your vibe? By doing things your way, when the time is right. A-Basin has changed over the past few years, adding new terrain, making improvements to its base area guest amenities, and consistently elevating the Colorado ski and ride experience. But we've remained true to ourselves, embracing a rich history, promoting a come-as-you-are vibe, and being vocal about our commitment to our environment and local community.

The Beavers & The Steep Gullies terrain expansion
Over the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area will add 468 acres of trees, groomers, steeps and open bowl skiing - The Beavers & The Steep Gullies. This expansion is the newest in Colorado, and will increase A-Basin's skiable terrain by nearly 50 percent. You can learn more about the whole process here.
- Now open for 2017-18: approximately 371 acres of advanced and expert hike back terrain.
- Opening in 2018-19: two intermediate groomed runs, an additional 97 acres of gladed tree skiing and a new four-person chairlift accessing The Beavers terrain.
Improvements to Mountain Goat Plaza & new guest amenities
We've spent nearly $7 million on guest amenities and improvements (excluding the terrain expansion and new lifts) over the past five seasons. Our Mountain Goat Plaza base area includes a new building, the Kids Center, and renovations to the 6th Alley Bar & Grill, Season Pass Office, the Arapahoe Sports Retail Shop and, most recently, an upgrade to the design of our Rental Shop. Other improvements include the installation of a music stage and the broadening of free public wifi across all of Mountain Goat Plaza.
Sustaining our environment & our community
Arapahoe Basin Ski Area believes that both environmental and community success are vital to the success of the ski area. A-Basin has emerged as an industry leader in sustainability - both in action and advocacy. We are committed to leaving the world as good as or better than we found it, ensuring a pristine mountain environment for future generations.

Improving the family experience
Arapahoe Basin has been working to improve the family experience, and aims to offer affordable, accessible skiing and riding for the next generation. In 2015, we opened the Kids Center, a special place for children in our Snowsports lessons and programs. A-Basin offers the Kids Free 2 Ski program, giving any child age 6-12 two free days at the mountain and offers first-timers a half-price lesson (signups begin August 2018). Kids age 5 and under ski free every day of the season.
