What happens if there is no 2020-21 ski season? -- The A-Basin Pass Promise

We are offering all passholders our A-Basin Pass Promise. If a person purchases a pass product for the 2020-21 season and Arapahoe Basin does not open, that pass product for that Holder will be valid for the 2021-22 season. The Holder understands that the benefits associated with the 2020-21 pass product may not be valid for the 2021-22 pass product.

The Pass Promise applies to each of these passes: full-season including renewals, midweek, military, senior, 2-5 day Any Day, College 5-pack, fall, spring, and shoulder-season. The A-Basin Pass Promise also applies if you have a Double Down Pass valid for the 2020-21 season.

Passes are still non-transferable between people. You may not give your pass to anyone else at any time.

What if the 2020-21 ski season is shortened?

Arapahoe Basin has a long season, typically October to June. That said, we never guarantee the length of our season. Historically, we have had years when our season opened later or closed early due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances. We fully intend to operate for the full, 2020-21 winter season. However, because we do not and cannot guarantee the length of a season, we do not refund season passes.

What is your refund policy?

Arapahoe Basin pass products are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE under ANY circumstances including, but not limited to, unplanned closures, snow conditions, weather, natural disasters, pandemics or other acts of God.

Which passes have the child season pass add-on for $119?

These 2020-21 passes: full-season, renewal full season, and midweek (NOTE: the midweek child add-on pass gives the child a full season pass that IS valid on weekends.)

How many child add-ons can I get with my adult pass?

Up to 5 children between the ages of 6-14.

If I paid a $49 deposit for a pass, how does it work?

Your credit card will be charged with the remainder of the pass price on September 10, 2020. The deposit is non-refundable.

When/how will I receive my 2020-21 season pass?

ALL PASSES must be picked up in person. We have new RFID cards this year. Please stop by the ticket window on your first visit of the season to A-Basin.

Can I get a senior pass if I’m not 70 years old yet but will be next ski season?

You must be 70+ years old at the time of purchase to qualify for a senior pass. We will sell the senior pass throughout next fall and winter, but the price will go up.

I am in college now but not next fall. Can I still buy the College 5 Pack?

No. You must be enrolled in school and show proof of current enrollment at the time you pick up your pass in fall 2020. So, if you are just starting college/graduate school this fall semester with at least 6 credit hours but haven’t taken classes yet, you DO qualify for the College 5 Pack. Just bring proof of enrollment with you when you pick up the pass.

How do I get my uphill access pass?

They will be available closer to the start of the 2020-21 season. You will have to collect it in person at one of our ticket windows. If you are unfamiliar with our uphill policies, please review this page

Can I upgrade a limited pass to a full season pass?

In most cases, yes! If you purchase a 2020 fall pass and want to keep skiing after 12/14/20, you can apply what you spent on the fall pass to upgrade to a full A-Basin season pass for the same season (2020/21). You will pay whatever the pass price is at the time of your upgrade, not an earlier-season cheaper price.

What about my unused 2019-20 Multi-Day Pass days (includes Elevation Passes and Any Day Passes valid for 1-5 days)?

Any day(s) that you have remaining on your 2019-20 multi-day A-Basin pass will be transferred to the 2020-21 season. Your pass will be valid opening day 2020 through February 28, 2021 with no blackout dates or restrictions.

Remaining Any Day or Elevation Pass days are restricted for use only by the person for which they were originally assigned and are non-transferrable. Refunds will not be granted for remaining days.

To redeem unused day(s) during the 2020-21 season, please visit our guest services office to pick up a new RFID card once we are open. If we open again this season, your existing pass card will work and we ask that you pay close attention to A-Basin communications for details on how to access the mountain.

What about my unused 2019-20 Transferable 4-Pack Lift Tickets?

All unused tickets purchased as part of a Transferable 4-Pack will automatically be transferred to the 2020-21 ski season and valid from opening day 2020 through February 28, 2021. Refunds will not be granted for these days.

Additional information on how to redeem unused tickets next season will be shared around the time that we open for the 2020-21 season. Because we do not collect email addresses for these ticket purchases, please keep an eye on our website for details.

2020-21 Ikon Pass FAQ

Includes full Ikon, Ikon Base, Ikon Base Plus and Ikon Session Passes.

Some details are still TBD. For additional information and to make a reservation beginning November 9, 2020, please visit Ikon's reservation page

When do I need to make reservations for A-Basin?

Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass and Ikon Session Pass holders must make a reservation for each day they want to ski and ride at A-Basin beginning November 9, 2020. Prior to November 9, you do NOT need to make a reservation to visit us. Overall, there is plenty of room for Ikon visitors. For most days of the season, we anticipate that the reservation system will be a non-issue.

Why do I have to make a reservation at A-Basin?

We encourage and want to see Ikon Pass holders this winter, but this action is being done to manage COVID-19 conditions. For the health and safety of our guests, staff and community, we want to spread out visitation and make sure that no single day sees too many people. The Ikon Pass family is large and we need to be careful that not too many people show up at the same time.

When and how can I start making reservations?

You will be able to start making reservations November 9, 2020, using your account on ikonpass.com or through the Ikon Pass app. You MUST make your reservation through Ikon; A-Basin will not be handling these reservations.

Ikon Pass holders will have the ability to make reservations throughout the winter season, subject to capacity. Reservations are based on availability; please check the Prep for Adventure page for details.

How many reservations can I make?

You will be able to reserve up to the number of access days granted on your pass. For example, Ikon Base Pass holders can reserve up to 5 days and Ikon Pass holders can reserve up to 7 days at each Ikon Pass destination. Ikon Session Pass Holders can reserve up to 4 days total. Reservations cannot be made on the same date at more than one destination.

For the best experience, please download the Ikon Pass app and check the Prep for Adventure page for the most current information.

Can I make reservations for other Ikon Pass holders?

A pass holder may make reservations at those destinations requiring reservations for anyone within your account.

Can I use Friends and Family tickets at A-Basin?

A-Basin will honor Ikon Friends and Family tickets but we have not yet finalized the fulfillment method.

What are the blackout dates at A-Basin?

There are no blackout dates on the 20/21 Ikon Pass. The 20/21 Ikon Base Pass, Ikon Base Plus Pass, and Ikon Session Pass 4-Day have the following blackout dates:

  • December 26, 2020 - Jan 2, 2021
  • January 16-17, 2021
  • February 13-14, 2021

What is the penalty if I cannot make it for my reserved day?

Details will be announced through Ikon within the next few weeks, including any policies surrounding reservations or the inability to keep your reservation.

If I want to visit last-minute, what are my options? Can I make day-of reservations?

Details will be announced through Ikon within the next few weeks, including any policies surrounding last minute reservations.

What benefits do I get at A-Basin?

Ikon Pass and Ikon Base / Base Plus Pass holders get the following benefits (benefits do not apply to Ikon Session Pass holders):

  • 10% off food and drinks (il Rifugio, alcohol and special events excluded from the discount)
  • 10% off items in Arapahoe Sports retail store

  • After your days at A-Basin run out, purchase discount lift tickets for yourself at the window
