Arapahoe Basin Closing Day 2024 | The Longest Ski & Ride Season in Colorado

We’re not done yet: Closing day has been extended to June 16!

For what will be a total of 222 days of snow and the longest ski and ride season in Colorado, we aren't done just yet.

And while the season has been extended, we can’t believe it's nearly closing day! First and foremost, thank you for joining us for another Legendary season. There's nothing better than doing what we love, skiing and riding at this beautiful ski area, with all of you.

As the longest ski and ride season in Colorado comes to a close, here's all you need to know to be ready to end the winter with a bang.

Extended Season Operations

We are closed Mon-Thurs and open Fri-Sun till June 16. (i.e. We are closed June 3-6 and will reopen June 7-9. We will close June 10-13, reopen June 14-16, and closing day will be June 16.)

Lifts spin from 8:30 am - 2:00 pm on these weekends. Extended weekends (June 7-9 & June 14-16), have shortened hours to help preserve snow conditions. Summer skiing is hot and snow melts quickly. Before the snow gets too mash-potato-y, we close for the day to allow the snow time to refreeze and be skiable another day.

How about your facilities?

  • The 6th Alley 9:00 a.m. - 3: 00p.m.
  • Black Mountain Lodge 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • Arapahoe Sports 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Base N’ Edge Tune Shop 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Closing Day Deets

Closing day is currently set for June 16!  Lifts will spin from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

There will be live music in the base area in the afternoon for folks to celebrate the end of another great season (DETAILS TO COME).

Costumes on closing day are not mandatory, but they are highly encouraged! Good vibes, however, are mandatory -- don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Make sure to check our Lift & Terrain Status webpage before heading up. Our patrol updates this daily when they do their weather report, so it is the most up-to-date and accurate information about what we have going on each day. Expect terrain on the Front Side via Black Mountain Express and Lenawee to be open and operating.

And most importantly, remain vigilant this time of year! Yes, spring skiing brings lots of fun, relaxed days on the Beach. But it also brings ever-changing spring conditions, from goggle-tans to the occasional storm rolling in, you never really know what you’re going to get. Snow surface conditions can change rapidly and our patrol is constantly monitoring every part of the mountain. Be prepared and most importantly, respect all signage and closures.
