Through May, Uphill Access will be limited during operational hours for race training taking place on our mountain. Closures will occur:

  • Wednesday, May 1: 12:30 PM - 4 PM
  • Every Monday, Thursday & Friday: 12:30 PM - 4 PM
  • Every Saturday & Sunday: 8:30 AM - 12 PM

Uphill Access is unaffected outside of operational hours for those early birds and night owls. Please check the terrain status page for real-time updates. Double-check the blinking light at the base area before heading up! When the light is blinking, uphill access is closed.

Hours & Routes
Everyone must have an uphill access pass + armband. Pass must be visible while you are on the mountain.

During operational hours, uphill is restricted to the eastern edge of High Noon between the Base area and Black Mountain Lodge or the longer route in the trees. Before or after operational hours, please use any of the open front side green or blue routes below Black Mountain Lodge. To reach the summit, use Dercum's Gulch or Grizzly Road. No matter when you uphill, DO NOT TRAVEL IN CLOSED TERRAIN.

Uphill season passes are $109, or a $29 add-on to a 23-24 A-Basin full-season pass. $10 from each pass will be donated to the National Forest Foundation.

Please purchase your uphill access pass online — there are no on-site pass sales. Collect your pass in person at one of our ticket windows 7 days a week between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

You must wear the provided armband while skinning or hiking and carry your uphill access pass with you. If you cannot pick up your pass before you uphill, please print your pass purchase receipt or have it readily available on your phone to show patrol.

Yes, you can use last year's armband! However, you will still need to purchase this year's pass.

The uphill access pass does NOT provide lift access.
