Early Season Breakdown

It’s here! At long last, ski season has arrived. Lifts started spinning for the 2023/24 winter season on October 29, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. If you’re planning on checking out the early season with us, all the info you need is right here.

The details:

Early season is blanketed with good vibes, sometimes warmer weather, and enough time to get your ski legs back under you before bigger snowstorms come in and more terrain opens. On-mountain, please note that we open with one lift (Black Mountain Express) and one run (High Noon). High Noon is an intermediate run. Very early season is not a beginner skier or rider experience, although you can still join in on the base area festivities. Early-season snow conditions are unique and not suitable for first-timers. Our easiest runs take a few additional weeks to open and require more snow.

Get me out there!

If you still need to purchase, get your lift ticket online and in advance! We do not sell lift tickets on-site. The earlier you buy, the more you save. Weekdays are cheaper than weekends. Please pre-purchase lift tickets before arriving, as we cannot guarantee day-of tickets and do not sell them on-site. A-Basin limits the sale of lift tickets daily to manage crowds and provide a better overall ski and ride experience for all guests. Value Passes are still available for purchase!

If you’re a star pupil and have already purchased – great work! If you had a pass product last winter and still have your Basin Card, please re-use it. Your new product for this season has automatically been loaded onto your existing card. If you don't have last year's card, see us at one of our ticket windows to grab a new one. Only one of your Basin Cards will be active at any one time. You get one free reprint. After that, a new Basin Card will be $5 each time. Please help us reduce waste!

If this is your first time with an A-Basin pass product or it's been a while (you didn't get one last year) — We did not mail any pass or pack products. Please see us at one of our ticket windows to get your pass card. Stick it in your pocket and go straight to the lift; we have RFID scanners.

Hungry?

The 6th Alley Bar & Grill, Legends Cafe, and Black Mountain Lodge are now open. These restaurants will be serving limited menus on opening day and after.

Forgot something?

Arapahoe Sports will be fully stocked with A-Basin gear, goggles, helmets, gloves, and tons of cool stuff. Our tune shop and rental shop will be open. If you need a tune, drop your equipment in the rental shop. Lessons start in November. Be sure to book those online in advance!
