OPENING DAY 2026

We’re kicking off our 80th season this Wednesday, October 28 at 11! 

Lifts will start spinning for the season at 11 AM. If you’re planning on ringing in this legendary season with us, all the info you need is right here. 

 

The details: 

The Black Mountain Express will be running from 11 AM - 4:00 P.M. servicing High Noon, a mountain-blue run.  

Opening day is not only filled with good vibes at the start of our favorite season, but we have a fool-proof plan to make sure the party is always alive: First-come-first-serve treats, giveaways, and more in the lift line; and a local legend of a DJ at the base area.

The Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass offer unlimited skiing & riding at A-Basin. Either of these passes, along with an A-Basin Season Pass, is the best way to access The Legend all season long, whenever you like. Plus, check out a laundry list of benefits here. 

If you still need to purchase, get your lift ticket online and in advance! Ikon Pass Holders get 50% off Friends & Family tickets October 1-November 3. Tickets must be purchased during this timeframe but can be used at any time throughout the season. 

Haven’t received your pass in the mail yet or need to pick up a single day lift ticket? Head to our Guest Services office to have your lift ticket, A-Basin, or Ikon Pass printed!

Eat 

The 6th Alley Bar & Grill, Legends Cafe, and Black Mountain Lodge will be open beginning October 28. These restaurants will be serving limited menus on opening day on these hours: 

• The 6th Alley Bar & Grill will be open from 9 AM - 4:30 P.M.

  • The launch of our 6th Alley Mug Club will happen THURSDAY 10/29 - first-come, first-serve!

• Black Mountain Lodge will be open today!  

 

 

Stay 

Our lodging partner, The Block Hotel & Commons, just 13 miles from The Basin in Silverthorne, is offering $34 room rates! Arapahoe Sports will be fully stocked with A-Basin gear, goggles, helmets, gloves, and tons of cool stuff.  Our tune shop and rental shop will be open. If you need a tune, drop your equipment in the rental shop and we will get it back to you as quickly as possible. And don’t forget to reserve your rentals online in advance for exclusive discounts!  

Looking for a refresh or just starting fresh? Lessons start in November. Be sure to book those online in advance! 

Beach reservations will go on sale November 1 – The Beach is first-come, first-serve for opening day. 

Heads up! We’ve gone cashless. For guests who still carry cash, A-Basin has a reverse ATM to exchange cash on the first floor of the A-Frame. The reverse ATM dispenses Mastercard debit cards that never expire and are redeemable wherever Mastercard is accepted.
