We reported 3" new today and 2" new yesterday. I went out skiing several times yesterday. I had a gang of friends visiting and we had a ball skiing the Upper and Lower Mountain terrain. Today should be even better with this return to winter.
It has been a weird, tough winter. As you know, snowfall has been light and temperatures have been warm. That spell of hot weather in late March was unprecedented. Also as you know, we have had to close terrain and lifts earlier than normal. It is quite a relief to see the new snow and colder temperatures. As I write, the temperature on the summit is 2 F. For now the melt has almost stopped. The forecast for the first half of April is much cooler and snowier than March was. Our snowcat team has been in action managing and consolidating the snow. What is open is skiing quite well.
Rest assured, we are going to keep this place open as long as we can. There is still a lot of fun to be had.
